Community Concert

Funds for the Neal Turkington Nepal Project received a massive boost due to the success of the Community Concert held in Killicomaine Junior High School on Thursday, 14th April 2011. 4500 was raised for this education project in Nepal.
The evening was very well supported and was possible due to the generosity of all the performers who gave their time and talents completely free of charge. Compere was Brian Johnston who kept the audience entertained with lots of jokes and banter.
It was an absolute delight to see such a display of talent from our local community. The programme included performances from Killicomaine pupils – the school choir, Beth Gilbert on piano and aspiring rock band ‘This is not an exit’.
The audience also enjoyed outstanding performances from: Lurgan Salvation Army Band, Zephaniah Dancers, Miss Joanne Louden (Soloist), Portadown Male Voice Choir, Deborah Anderson School of Dance, R.I.R. Pipes and Drums, Mr Stephen Bell (Pianist) and Mr Harry Hamilton as ‘Flash Harry’.
Sincere thanks are due to the many individuals, football and rugby clubs and local businesses who supported this charitable event by making donations or giving items for the auction and raffle.
Parents, pupils and staff all played their part in making the event a huge success.
